JAVA DEVELOPER - INSTRUCTOR

A driven, flexible instructor who's excited to help students, and try out new teaching styles and strategies

Why developers/teachers:
Programming is a great challenge. It offers people nearly limitless opportunities to create and be creative. Our students are transitioning to an entirely new career and a new path in life, and we are here to support them however we can. For our graduates, to be competitive in today’s job market, we want them to be mentored by teachers with real world experience. We are seeking instructors with cutting-edge industry experience to help us stay current. For some, it might be an opportunity to try teaching, for others, a chance to take a break from the fast-paced technology industry and share their skills and knowledge with students eager to learn. Teaching experience is NOT a pre-requisite for this position.

You can expect from us:
We work hard, and constantly work to build a better program and a better school. With our 25 years of teaching in IT and corporate training, we know a thing or two about teaching people about tech, but we recognize that the changing workforce demands we embrace new educational models. Skill Distillery is seeking a new team member that will contribute to that ongoing effort, challenge us to be better and work with us to help build our school.

About the Job:
We are seeking a teacher with a zeal for learning, a passion for teaching, serious industry experience, flexibility to adapt and excitement for trying new things to deliver the best possible experience to our students. Ideal applicants should have industry and teaching experience.

What we expect of you:
We are looking for someone who really cares about the work we do. We know that we are helping prepare the workforce of the future, and we expect applicants to take that work to heart. Our team invests a ton of time and energy into our students and their future, so we want to add someone to our team who is willing to be part of that investment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teach our students programming/technical skills to meet the modern workforce
